Connecting North Korea Researchers

with North Korean Defectors

Finding and connecting with willing study participants is a common challenge those researching North Korea. That’s why we, at Woorion, strive to become the bridge that connects researchers with defectors in order to facilitate accurate, reliable, and meaningful research on North Korea.

Advantages of Our Research

Woorion has more than 10,000 members, roughly one-third of the total number of North Korean defectors (around 33,000). This gives us the capacity to conduct diverse and meaningful surveys.

Identification

Our up-to-date database on North Korean defectors enables identification for reliable research.

Large Samples

Thanks to our database, we’re able to recruit high volumes of survey participants for larger data samples.

Fast Results

We proceed with panels  that complete surveys diligently for quick and accurate results.

High Quality

We’re selective about the projects we conduct, dedicating intensive time and effort to each to produce high quality results.

User Review

Reviews of institutions who have used Woorion’s survey service.

“Woorion has made it easier to conduct surveys. Not only was it helpful to find respondents, but it was great to have the surveys facilitated as well.”

(Professor Andrei Lankov / Kookmin University)

"Gratefully, the survey was conducted very swiftly, and we received a high rate of response from the surveys conducted via Woorion. As a result, I was able to complete the research I planned well. I would like to thank the North Korean defectors who responded to the Woorion survey."

(Jeong Seung-mok/ Seoul National University)

"It is not easy to recruit North Korean participants who have defected for surveys pertaining to politics and economics. Because of Woorion’s meticulous and responsible cooperation we were able to produce a meaningful research. I sincerely apprecite it."

"While conducting the research with Woorion, we were able to recruit North Korean defectors who met the research needs. Additionally, if we had requests in the middle of the research a representative from Woorion swiftly helped us. Thanks to this, we were able to quickly recruit the number of people needed within the deadline and conducted the research smoothly."
